Unique as Uniqlo

Is Uniqlo unique? If Americans take a look in some aspects they'll say no. Usually every time I have to explain the brand to my friends I always tell them...it's like Japanese Gap. But really?! No, I think Uniqlo is better than that. Specially in recent times where Gap has become slightly overpriced and products have been stale. Fashion, good fashion costs, and for the working class who still want to look stylish we always try to look for the best deals. Isn't that why Old Navy has become big in the recent years? No offense to Old Navy, but sometimes their quality is not consistent. (I mean it wears out easily which is why I stick to only basic t-shirts, but even those are ill fitted.)

On to Uniqlo....I could dabble on its history and how it started in Japan opening up its first store in Hiroshima and all that but why bother? I'll just tell you the perks of Uniqlo and small downsides to them. They are everywhere in Japan! And I mean everywhere to the point even the Japanese people are sick of it. (Even I am sick of Forever 21. You really can't be Forever 21 and have clothes that look like are made for 14 year olds.) In the U.S though, Uniqlo is fairly new. At first they tried to a have store in New Jersey but for some reason the visibility was not enough and the whole thing went flop. After regrouping they decided on a big ass store in New York City with I think about three locations. Wow....huge risk for a company that is truly 'Asian' in its brand name. (Sorry Forever 21, I know you're owned by Koreans but it's not obvious anymore. There's no Korean fashion. There's just teeny bopper fashion.)

So after a years of knowing Uniqlo I was scratching my head and thinking 'when the heck are you guys coming to the west coast.' And voila this year they opened up there first store in San Francisco. Man how happy I was and hopped on the next car trip to there pop up store before their actual store opened. WHoo!! The cheapness was apparent with the clothing and the best part. The best part...BEST PART!!  ....Okay yes the best part was their jeans from the men's side.

Ahem...so THEY DO FREE TAILORING WITH PURCHASE!!!!!!!!!! (w/ $25 purchase, but hey it's easy to rack up that kind of price)

....*cricket cricket*

Excitement done now. Well not really cause I do have to say their slim fit jeans do fit me and I don't have to squeeze my rear into them (Men you flatt asses just saying.).

The downside about Uniqlo is that they do just have basics for their products so no statement t-shirts, but I do have to agree some of their techy clothes (Heat tech is one example. Traps your body heat and keeps you warm) are interesting. I think they were right by equating themselves to Apple and how they want their clothes to be known for a user, technical experience. And for a while till 4 days ago they had no online shopping. As of 4 days ago that has changed so go on check them out. Be unique as Uniqlo.

How should I describe myself? Should I go into a long rant about me and what I like? Or is a list easier for your eyes? I think a small paragraph should do.

Music is my passion with modern Asian music, such as k-pop, j-pop and j-rock etc., writing is my joy and photography is my growing love. Food is the best way to socialize and fashion is my way to know that I put my shirt on correctly.
