Tea parties. There's just something elegant and classy about having them, dressing up for them and let's just add in a the theme of the birthday party. Everyone who was invited by Nathaniel was asked to dress up in lolita or steampunk. You guys will see photos of everyone else who was there later. For now my focus is these two because of how sweet the girl looked and how eccentric Nathaniel looked.
As for the photography aspect the only difficulties was the high sun and trecking through the bamboo in the area. I was surprised that we ended up using it as a set. Asia meets steampunk and lolita. I'm used to lolita being a part of Japan but steampunk fashion I'm not too sure if it's popular in Japan. I am always happy to work with people who know how to pose because I'm still working on directing. Also to let you guys know I'm very biased towards my 50 mm lens. It's the cheap prime lens around $100 on amazon. I love how it creates a nice blurred background and makes for great portrait shots. Downside zooming in and out is not possible and I have to move with my feet. Another downside and this is probably because I have a crop sensor but it's not wide enough. I have a small space of what is captured on my sensor. It's just something I have to work with. Maybe I'll invest in a 35 mm lens for my camera. I'll leave you guys to stare and be amazed.
