I Give You the Beatles!!

Sorry folks not the group that took the U.S nation by storm. Although, we seem to be having another UK invasion of music and fashion. Who can blame them? I like their music artist and fashion brands.

That's not the point here. I like getting side tracked don't I? Well, I haven't done a k-pop music review in a while so when I heard about the group Global Icon (GI for short), I was intrigued. Right off the bat they described themselves as all tomboys. All but one had short hair and sported tomboy fashion. In my head I thinking 'okay so they're tomboys. Is this another marketing gimmick?'. I mean let's face it a lot of girl groups like to market that they have a tomboy in their group or have more a masculine feel in their music. And then they switch it up to adhere to male audiences.

Fast forward to the music video debut. I see crop tops and skinny jeans and a switch to a more masculine look. Not that this is bad, as I mentioned in my post Asian Tomboys. There are vary degrees of tomboys. And this group GI almost all of them are featured. From their concept photos to their music video we see the feminine tomboy to the truly masculine type. I would like to applaud them for that because often times k-pop likes to show their tomboys as just in baggy clothes and t-shirts. Which isn't bad I like that too but as someone who like makeup and likes to see a mix of both femininity and masculinity this is nice.

Onto the the music and dancing. There's a lot of auto tune in this song. It's blatantly obvious and gives a creepy feel to the music. I sort of like it. Though the sound does get repetitive and there's not much a vocal change so there's some fault there. As for the dancing. I'm very thankful they stuck with a more confident dance rather than hip and rear dance. I know out there netizens are saying they are like 2NE1 and B.A.P but serious they are their own group. I don't see much of resemblance maybe slight concept wise but by their look they have a slight grunge feel. Don't attack me for this just I like to seperate them right away and give them a chance to stand on their own. Cause in the future I'm sure they will be liked to be known as GI not the group who looks like someone else. Give it a shot and tell me what you like and don't like.

Seriously...let's have a discussion. I'm a little lonely in here.
