Question of the Month...Why do we Need Personal Style?

Of all the things I keep hearing guys and some girls ask about it's why personal is so important. I hear what's great about it? We just put on clothes and walk off to work, school, shopping or a date. Let me just ask you though, do you put on that basic t-shirt because of it's functionality, look or because it's the only thing in you're drawers that's clean?

Truth is..fashion was created just for that. Functionality and look. Of course we see runway stuff and wonder what designers were thinking. Most of the high end fashion do trickle down into the mainstream atmosphere. That basic t-shirt you are wearing with that color, I'm sure it was thought about way long before the sweatshop decided to sew it up. It's because of fashion we can share our style on our bodies in a different way. It's because of fashion we can be kept warm.

Now I will say for those who don't want to change their fashion sense to mainstream fashion and that's actually okay. Everyone has the right to be unique. And just because everyone is unique doesn't mean that we're all doing the same thing. I think a person's own fashion style is personal. Even the most 'ugly' thing can actually look good on someone. I think a lot of people can agree as long as you have confidence in the outfit you can pull it off.

This is my philosophy about fashion and style. It all depends on your personality. It's your personality that will shine through your clothes. Your clothes don't show you off rather the clothes are just an extension of your personality. This is why when I see someone that I know that's trying to hard when I know their personality I shake my head and say to myself there's no point to change them. I mean yes we can do make overs but I think make overs are just temporary masks until your personality can shine through.
