Let's Start with the Appetizer Jay Park

Of all the controversial music artists in the K-pop scene this was an artist with a comeback like no other. In short this is Jay Park, who has defied all K-pop traditions. There are no extreme sexiness or dances that make the artist look hot. Instead you get a lot of cursing. Not that I think cussing is bad. Just for a music video put out in Korea, it's a bold move. I have to give Jay Park credit for crossing the line. But of course it gets slapped with a 19+ rating so it won't be likely you'll see him on music shows.

Backstory on him. Jay Park used to be in a group called 2PM but due to comments saying he was homesick and some 'rude' comments about Korea, he was kicked out of the group and contract nullified. He ended up going back to Seattle and came back into the music scene via Youtube and his dance crew. Thanks to Youtube and support of his fans he came back to Korea and brought out the music he wanted to do.

Now there's been a lot of complaints about him such his music and his fan base splitting but let's focus on the music. His music is genuinely hip-hop and rap. He has good vocals for ballads and other genres of music so he's a well rounded person. Plus he can dance and breakdance well. So who's to say he wouldn't make it into the American scene. It'll be up to him to decide.

Onto the video. In short it's all rapping and bouncing on the bar. What else can I say? OH right the not one, but two middle fingers stuck up in the end. Bold move Jay Park bold move. Could you truly categorize this in K-pop? I would have say not, but he does bring the industry something that is much needed for the industry as a whole. The collaboration between him and underground producers. The helping of the little guy is much appreciate and always brings a new sound to the mix. Who knows someday K-pop online fans will understand, it's not just the pretty faces and trained idols that are great in music. It'll be the people behind the scenes and those who learn to produce their own music that survive. I mean...that's what GD is doing, but that's another story for another time.

How should I describe myself? Should I go into a long rant about me and what I like? Or is a list easier for your eyes? I think a small paragraph should do.

Music is my passion with modern Asian music, such as k-pop, j-pop and j-rock etc., writing is my joy and photography is my growing love. Food is the best way to socialize and fashion is my way to know that I put my shirt on correctly.
