Hannari Journey: Simplicity with Ya-kun~ Simple is Best

It's been a while since I had a photoshoot with a new person. Longer since I've set my lens on this person! I was extremely happy when he agreed to do a little impromptu photoshoot. It was an overcast day so the colors on his shirt really was standout compared to all the cloudiness in the sky.

So ! Reasons why I wanted to photography Ya-kun. I'll just lay it all here and now. He is in tuned to simplicity to his outfits and really pay attentions to even the most minute details plus he always seems to have those one or two things about his outfit that stand out. The second reason is that he's my friend and most of my friends I just like to photograph in general. Honestly though, I do like his style everything about it always makes me do a double take. There were so many times I just wanted to whip out my camera and do a photoshoot of him. I've seen him in so many good looking clothes that I wish I could share with you all but I didn't record it. Sorry guys!! At least I have these photos. I will have more photos sometime. Just...distance is an issue. (We live far apart so I only get to see him when he comes to visit or when I get to go and visit him.)

As I mentioned it was an overcast day so I was happy in that the clouds created a nice softbox for me. I really like playing with natural light rather than artificial light. Though, the downside is that I should not have taken a photo with the sky in it as show in the first photo. On the upside, I got an amazing photo of his earring. It's huge! But I like the craftsmanship and all the detail. Plus it's simply elegant and I'm a little biased cause it's made in Indonesia. For the first time I got to work with facial expression. I was able to get some shots when he made a face or had an interesting expression. I really liked Ya-kun's facial expressions. It brings life to the photo. Kind of how JT has his derp moments, Ya-kun's expressions make the photo more interesting. I like people that can make expressions work because I can't do that yet when I'm photographed.

I hope to work with him more often so I can show you guys what else he has in his closet! Till then enjoy these!
