Second dance jam this year. Wow I must say I'm starting to enjoy myself in the bboy world. Now I just need to get into the cyphers once in a while. To explain a cypher is when you form a circle and while the music plays an individual can jump and showcase what they got. Hey that sounds like my junior high dances when they weren't so strict. Okay in those times what little you could was awesome cause it took a lot of confidence to be in the spotlight. If I tried that now I'm sure I would look like a dork. Back to cyphers, also people can call out others in battles and those are fun to watch to see who could show each other up. It helps if you have a good DJ playing awesome R&B or funk and MC that can bring up the hype (energy).
Few things I noticed now in my photography while in this setting. One, the room was bigger hence I could have a lower shutter speed but there was something I was especially giddy about. The windows in the room gave a nice backlight to practice silhouette. Dancers give great poses and at the right moment I got some shots of them in action. Troubles I had this time was ...my lens. Yes, I switched to a zoom lens. Do I regret it? I borrowed from a friend his faster zoom lens to give me a more wider angle but I'll let you know how I truly feel about it soon after one more photoshoot. Anything you want to know about breaking? Let me know. I know enough now what happens and most of the terms.
